The singer at the microphone wore the standard-issue uniform of trop-rock performers who cover Jimmy Buffett songs during happy hours — Hawaiian shirt, khaki shorts, flip-flops — while he strummed a six-string guitar. After singing a rendition of “It’s Five O’clock Somewhere” at a quarter till seven in the evening, he pointed out a woman milling through the Paradise Tiki Hut Bar & Grill who was selling raffle tickets.
“They’re trying to raise money for Golisano Children’s Hospital,” said the performer, Scotty Bryan. “See the people in the goofy hats to buy a ticket.”
